Dixie needs a sponsor

dixieDixie a 11 year old Paint Mare being laid up for 35 days and counting for a pulled suspensory (which is already 100x’s better) then 6 mos-1 year for a bowed tendon. She is a great trail horse and will make a full recovery. She deserves a chance with you. Start working with her now by establishing a great foundation on the ground before moving onto her back. Her downtime will give you ample time to establish the type of bond most riders dream of by not rushing her recovery. Vet Dr. Hibner recovering at Horses Healing Hearts, Inc. Danville, Ca.

Sponsor fee is $1500.00

What does being a sponsor entail?

Sponsoring a horse involves donating time and money to their care. In can come in the form of a financial contribution. Some sponsorships include paying for farrier $100.00 or 200.00 annual vet fees for shots check-ups. In return you can help rehab her by hand walking etc. another sponsorship is $50.00 a month where you can come out a groom hand walk and aid in her recovery.

Hi, I am the original owner/trainer/handler of this horse and while I cannot afford your donation fee for a purchase back on her, I would be extremely happy to take her back as a foster or ? We traded her as a 3 yr old for an older show horse for my daughter and have never forgotten how hard it was to hear her “calling” for us as we left her. Please let me know if this is something you can work out with us. My daughter would be estatic to have her back.

      Dear Donna,
I hope you are feeling well. What are your thoughts on Dixie? Have we put it to rest? She is still in rehab at the rescue and continues to make progress. Her hind end seems stiff and we are working on hand walking her daily and lunging. It has not been a year yet since her injuries. Dixie is already moving like a new horse. My vet said besides the itchy belly she is ready to start working and enjoys training.
